At every annual conference, we offer the opportunity for attendees and guests to participate in one of our community service projects to benefit our host community. It is a great way to make new friends and engage in public service on the day before the conference kicks off. URMIA Annual Conference Committees have found an ideal partner this year.
YouthCare works to end youth homelessness and to ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential. We are interested in partnering with YouthCare to assemble and deliver Halloween treat bags for kids who may not have a traditional “trick-or-treating” experience this year. This volunteer opportunity will allow us to remain at the conference site in downtown Seattle while supporting a local non-profit in a spirited way. Other traditional volunteer opportunities are not currently available due to the lingering pandemic as they slowly phase volunteers back into limited programs.
